Inspired by his brother, Arnulfo Caro planted his first coffee trees in 2020 and harvested his inaugural crop in 2022. What began as a leap of faith has quickly grown into a family-run specialty coffee farm, lovingly operated alongside his wife, Martha, and their family. While Martha leads post-harvest processing and balances life raising their young daughter, Arnulfo, formerly a miner, now devotes himself fully to expanding and refining the farm. His journey has been guided by the mentorship of Santiago's father, whose experience has helped shape both the quality of the coffee and the vision for the land. Perched at over 2,100 meters above sea level in Anzá, Antioquia, their farm was carved from untouched mountainside into a thriving coffee landscape. This remarkable altitude creates the slow maturation and bright clarity that give their Chiroso its distinctive sweetness, elegance, and complexity. The cherries are fermented whole for four days before being depulped and returned to tanks for an additional eight days of fermentation, coaxing out remarkable natural sweetness and depth.
Heart it if you’d brew it, or pass.
